Day 1: Phnom Penh - Tonle Bati - Phnom Chisor - Takeo - Kampot
Today we depart hotel at 8h00 and drive southwards 160 km on highway No 3. En route we make stopover to visit the pre-angkorian temples of Tonle Bati Ta Prohm and Prasat Yeay Peo. Upon leaving this site we continue to Phnom Chisor Temple which dates back from the 11th century. We climb a 500 step path leading up to the hill top to enjoy fabulous views over the surrounding countryside. The thrilling drive passes though the scenic landscape to Kep Beach, once a favourite seaside resort for French and Cambodian residents of Phnom Penh. On arrival in Kampot, we stroll along the riverside and through the centre. There are many fine old French houses still standing. O/N in Kampot.
Day 2: Kampot - Bokor National Park - Phnom Penh
The following destination of our trip is Bokor National Park. This hill retreat at an elevation of over 1,000 meters was founded by French administrators in the early years of the last century when the heat on plain became unbearable. There are some remains of the French colonial period and many small waterfalls. The road conditions are very poor, but view from the top of the mountain is interesting. We embark on a walk to explore the park before heading back to the capital city. The trip ends after arrival in Phnom Penh. (B)
